De optimist is een bronzen beeld, in een oplage van 15, dat is geïnspireerd op Rubin’s vase van Deense psycholoog en filosoof Edgar Rubin. Met deze sculptuur  heb ik mijn eigen vertaling gemaakt van de Rubin’s vase (een beeld waarin zowel een vaas als twee gezichten te zien zijn en dit klopt allebei). Mijn hele leven ben ik al bezig met de percepties van mensen te beïnvloeden door hen anders naar de werkelijkheid te laten kijken. De werkelijkheid bestaat immers niet, de werkelijkheid zit in je hoofd. De realiteit is voor ieder mens anders of kan anders zijn. Dit bronzen beeld heeft als titel de optimist. Maar als ik aan mensen vraag of zij de titel kunnen verklaren, dan is het antwoord vaak nee. Zij zien namelijk geen thumps up, maar een vogel, een zwaan om precies te zijn. En ook dat klopt allebei.

De optimist is een beperkte oplage verkrijgbaar en wordt geleverd met een certificaat. De sculptuur is circa 25 cm hoog en is drie cm dik. Op verzoek kan het beeld ook levensgroot geleverd worden. Neem voor prijzen en mogelijkheden contact met me op door een mail naar me te sturen
